Founder & Director, Ollie’s Echo: Pathways to Prevention Ltd
Mia Bannister is the Founder and Director of Ollie’s Echo: Pathways to Prevention Ltd, a charity established in memory of her son, Ollie, who tragically lost his life to suicide at just 14 after a battle with anorexia. Through Ollie’s Echo, Mia is committed to changing the narrative around eating disorders in boys and young men—raising awareness, breaking stigma, and advocating for early intervention, prevention, and education.
As a lived experience speaker, Mia shares Ollie’s story to spark meaningful conversations, influence systemic change, and create safer environments for young people. Her work brings together parents, educators, health professionals, and policymakers to better understand the intersection of body image, social media, and mental health.
Mia also draws on nearly two decades of experience in senior business development and partnerships roles across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Today, she channels her skills into purpose-driven work, amplifying voices too often unheard and championing pathways to prevention so that no family has to experience the loss her own has endured.
