David Facer

David Facer — Managing Director, Brave Brothers Ltd David Facer is the Managing Director and founder of Brave Brothers Ltd, a Bundaberg-based charity dedicated to men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and domestic and family violence awareness. Since formalising Brave Brothers in 2023, after groundwork laid in late 2022, David has led community campaigns, training, and safe-space initiatives that “meet men where men are” across the Wide Bay–Burnett region. In recognition of its grassroots impact, Brave Brothers was named Community Group of the Year at the 2025 Bundaberg Regional Council Australia Day Awards, a milestone that reflected both David’s leadership and the organisation’s growing reach in suicide prevention and men’s health advocacy. A long-time community leader, David also serves as Chair of the headspace Bundaberg consortia, helping connect local youth to mental-health supports and networks; and as a Director of Partners in Care Together, an initiative of the Bundaberg Health Services Foundation, strengthening partnerships between health services, community organisations, and families. Under David’s direction, Brave Brothers has become a visible presence at regional events and partnerships—from NRL game-day activations and neighbourhood-centre collaborations to community forums and men’s health awareness drives—building local momentum through practical outreach and peer-led engagement. Before Brave Brothers, David contributed to statewide peer-support development, including the Hearing Voices movement in Queensland. David’s work frequently features in local press—highlighting his family’s involvement, program milestones, and events underscoring a consistent, grassroots approach to connection and help-seeking.
